  • Professional Wardrobe Integration Help

Starting a new job at a tech startup where dress code is "smart casual." Trying to figure out if leather jackets can work in this environment.

The company culture seems relaxed based on interviews, but I don't want to misjudge expectations. Looking for best men leather jacket styles that bridge casual and professional appropriately.

My challenge is looking polished without being overdressed for the environment. Most coworkers seem to wear jeans and nice shirts, so leather might fit perfectly.

Style preference is clean and minimal - avoid anything that looks rebellious or aggressive. Want sophisticated rather than edgy.

Budget is around $400 since this would essentially be work attire. Quality matters for regular wear, but don't need luxury pricing.

Color considerations are tricky. Black might be too formal, brown might be too casual. Any suggestions for professional-appropriate leather jacket colors?

Also wondering about styling with typical startup attire. How do leather jackets work with jeans, chinos, and casual button-downs?

The goal is looking put-together and intentional rather than like I grabbed whatever was closest. Want to make good first impressions.

Any professionals in similar environments with leather jacket experience? What works in practice?
