  • Anyone familiar with this open-source care project? Is it worth getting involved?

    Hey everyone,

I came across something interesting and wanted to get your thoughts. It’s an open-source project that seems to focus on making care and support services more accessible through tech. The GitHub repo is here:
    https://github.com/Vetsandcare

From what I can tell, it’s still in the early stages, but it’s already showing a clear purpose — building digital tools for services that typically don’t get much tech attention. What stood out to me is the simplicity and clarity in the way it’s being built. It’s not overloaded with unnecessary features. Instead, it looks like a functional foundation that could be built on further by the community.

Alongside the GitHub page, there’s also a blog here:
    https://blog.rackons.in/profile/vetsandcare

The blog gives a bit more context to the project. It’s not super long or detailed, but it helps paint a picture of what the goal is. If you're curious about the direction it’s heading in, you might want to visit now and have a read. The posts are short but aligned with the overall mission — using tech to make meaningful change in care-related areas.

So here’s my question: has anyone else seen or worked on similar types of projects? Do you think something like this — starting from a small repo and blog — can grow into something impactful, especially with community input?

I’m debating whether it’s worth contributing to now while it’s still forming. On the one hand, it’s a great chance to help shape it early. On the other, I’m wondering if it has enough traction yet.

Would love to hear what you all think — especially those who’ve been part of open-source from the ground up.

    Thanks in advance!
