This morning I found a dead animal in the yard, and it looks like my dogs were responsible. I’m not sure what happened overnight, but clearly something came into the yard and didn’t make it out. They’ve never done this before, so I was pretty surprised.
I know dogs have strong instincts, especially if something enters their space—but it still feels weird seeing that side of them. Has anyone else had this happen? Should I be trying to stop it, or is this just part of owning dogs, especially in more rural areas?
I’d love to hear how others have handled similar situations—whether you did training, added fencing, or just accepted it as part of life with dogs. Any thoughts are welcome.
