While PTE stands for Pearson Test of English, which is a test of English language skills for academic purposes or immigration, IELTS is short for International English Language Testing System, whose aim is to measure persons’ ability to use English in an educational context. PTE is adaptive to the computer and tends to be faster as compared to IELTS which can either be on paper or computer. The IELTS has a face-to-face speaking component, while the speaking part of PTE is recorded through a computer. The specific choice depends on the person and his peculiarities as well as the concrete demands of the country which is chosen for migration.
