A cash flow statement is a money report of going in and out of the cash of a business for a given period. The three sections are operating, investing and financing activities. This statement will help the business to have their liquidity tracked to know how much they have in the bank and if it is enough funds to cover expenses and investments. Essentially, it helps asses the financial health of the company in particular as far as it would be with budgeting or investment decision. Unlike the income statement, the cash flow statement presents only actual transactions involving cash.
